Hoyle Court Wedding Photography, Baildon — Dani & Scott’s Joyful Spring Day

Hoyle Court, Baildon — full of character and quiet charm.Built for the Ambler family between 1910 and 1912, this Edwardian Baroque home still holds its original beauty. Now a Masonic Lodge, it’s tucked in West Yorkshire, just a short hop from Leeds.

I’ve photographed a few weddings here over the years, and it always offers something special — soft light, calm spaces, and gardens that shine at golden hour. Dani & Scott’s day felt unhurried and full of feeling. From sparkler laughter to a live-band first dance, their wedding was joyful, gentle, and full of real moments.

Getting Ready Moments at Home
— Dani & Her Girls

Dani & Scott’s wedding at Hoyle Court
captured by a documentary Leeds wedding photographer.

A cold April day —
but full of warmth and anticipation.

The morning began at home,
in the attic room flooded with natural light.
Laughter, coffee, and a practice walk from Dani,
full of nerves and joy.

Soon, she made her way to Hoyle Court,
where Scott was waiting.
The emotion was already building

The Groom — The Ceremony
— The Emotion

When I arrived at Hoyle Court,
everyone was ready and waiting.

As Dani walked in with her dad,
you could see every emotion cross her face —
laughter, tears, pure overwhelm.

That moment down the aisle felt huge.

Only after the first kiss
did she seem to breathe again.

A heartfelt ceremony from start to finish.

Signing the Register &
The Exit Photographed

After the vows came those sweet, simple moments —
signing the register, sharing grins,
caught in between ceremony and celebration.

Guests took their own snaps too —
and I was there for it all, as always,
quietly documenting every moment at Hoyle Court.

Their walk out into the spring air felt like a release —
a moment of “we did it” joy,
ready now to soak up every second.

Time for Drinks and Hellos at Hoyle Court

A chance to breathe —
to gather themselves, sip a drink,
and enjoy that first wave of hugs and hellos.

I always suggest couples take twenty minutes or so
just to be with everyone —
canapés in hand, no rush.

Not a production line —
but a chance to truly enjoy the day.
Because it’s their day.

Group Photos at Hoyle Court
— Then an Escape in the Morris Minor

It’s not hard to photograph happy people at weddings.
Dani & Scott’s day was all smiles — pure joy to be part of.

We gathered everyone for one big group photo
before they escaped in the Morris Minor,
off to a rocky spot they love for a few relaxed portraits.

Then back to Hoyle Court,
where we finished a few more family groups in the spring sunshine.

A Wedding Breakfast at Hoyle Court
— in April Light

Once everyone was settled at the tables,
I took the bride’s bouquet outside —
just a couple of quiet frames on the stone steps,
in that soft April contrast.

The speeches came after food (which I always prefer).
You can really feel the nerves build —
and that’s where the honest moments live.

But Dani & Scott’s day stayed beautifully relaxed.
Plenty of time to move gently around the room,
capturing the laughter, the glances,
the natural joy —
just before the cake came out.

Sparklers to Speeches at Hoyle Court
— A Fun and Personal Celebration

Sparklers for many.
Neckties adjusted.
Flowers passed around during speeches
— full of laughter, warmth, and emotion.

A truly fabulous day to photograph for Dani & Scott.
Honestly, it never really feels like work.

Evening Portraits and Golden Light at Hoyle Court
— A Few Relaxed and Fun Group Photos

Huddled together — not too cold,
but definitely a little chilly.

Dani & Scott ventured out into the early evening light
for a few relaxed couple portraits by the white gate —
and with an orange-gold April sky behind them.

A quiet moment together
to frame a perfect day.

Evening Reception
— Chinese Lanterns & The First Dance

As evening settled in,
the last of the natural light filled the rooms inside.
I captured a few relaxed shots of the new arrivals —
even some lovely impromptu family groupings,
three generations huddled together without prompting.

Then, under the golden glow of the outdoor lights,
Chinese lanterns swayed above everyone.
It brought such warmth to the space —
and kept people close.

Dani & Scott’s first dance was to The White Keys,
live and loud and full of joy.

Light, space, and a sense of ease.

I’ve photographed a few weddings at Hoyle Court now,
and there’s something quietly elegant about it every time.
Tall sash windows spill soft light into every room.
The gardens feel made for golden-hour portraits,
but also for real, in-between moments.

Dani & Scott’s day had that gentle kind of warmth —
even on a chilly April afternoon.
Just like Debra & Jared’s sunshine-filled wedding at Hoyle Court,
where joy poured in from the sunlit lawn
and the laughter indoors.

These weddings are grouped together
in my Hoyle Court Weddings page.

Tucked in Baildon, just outside Leeds,
Hoyle Court gives couples space to be themselves —
and for me, as a wedding photographer based in Leeds,
it’s a beautiful place to document real connection.
