Bio | Tim Christian Jones | A Leeds Wedding Photographer in the Heart of Yorkshire
I always find it hard writing about myself — but I think it’s important to get to know the person who’ll be by your side on one of the most special days of your life.
So, the business part first: I studied photography at Leeds Beckett University for four years and graduated with a BA (Hons) degree. Photography’s been a passion since I was young, and even now I still love the imperfections and depth of film.
Before weddings, I worked in retail and spent a summer travelling through Brazil with my camera. Seeing how people reacted to the photos I took made me realise that photography could become more than just a hobby — it could be a way of life.
I’ve always believed that if you can love what you do, no day will ever really feel like work — and that’s exactly how I feel photographing weddings.
Why Natural Wedding Photography Matters
Seen the growing trend of over-sharpened images in photographers’ galleries? Photos that start to look artificial — almost as if people have been placed into the scene, with backgrounds that don’t quite feel real?
It’s something that’s never sat right with me
Welcome to a portfolio of natural, unforced photography — work that respects the history of image-making and the quiet honesty that came with film. Back then, scenes were recorded with a kind of purity. You could look into an image, move around it, and simply feel what was there.
Modern cameras, in many ways, have shifted that. There’s a strong focus on sharpness and in-camera processing — sometimes altering an image before it’s even seen. It’s often called computational photography, and while powerful, it can pull things away from how they actually felt in the moment.
What you’ll find here is something different.
A portfolio shaped by a more considered approach — where your wedding photographs reflect your story as you remember it. Real moments, real atmosphere, without distortion or over-editing.
I’m Tim Christian Jones, a Yorkshire wedding photographer.

We couldn’t be happier with our beautiful wedding photographs!!!!! Tim is such a fabulous man – friendly, discreet, professional and totally brilliant at his craft. Everyone who has seen our photos have all commented on how great they are and guests at the wedding said how comfortable they were around Tim on the days. We certainly felt relaxed and not pushed into pictures we didn’t want. This shows in the images – they are natural and capture the atmosphere of the day. The photos (over 1000!) were available online within 72 hours which was very exciting for us to view them on our honeymoon. Tim is 100% the photographer you should book.

On a more personal level, I’m a healthy eater and clean-living type — pint-sized at 5ft 5, with a big love for nature and animals (they can teach us a thing or two about calm and kindness).
Music-wise, I’m drawn to the days when music was music — everything from Shocking Blue to Take That and the Backstreet Boys still gets regular play.
I love a good walk, especially around Kirkstall Abbey or Golden Acre Park, and every now and then you’ll find me at the Magpie Café in Whitby — a Yorkshire classic that never disappoints.

Tim did an absolutely brilliant job at our wedding and pre-wedding shoot. He is a deft, masterful photographer with an ability to put people at ease and unobtrusively capture candid moments. His natural style of photography is precisely what we were looking for, and he delivered high quality, barely edited photos with astounding promptness and professionalism. Also, his prices are fantastic value for money! Our friends and family around the world have relived this special day through Tim’s beautiful photos, and I’m sure we will enjoy them for a long time to come. I would strongly recommend his services to anyone looking for candid and affordable wedding photography that doesn’t compromise on quality or style! Thank you so much Tim.
